Le Tour in Denmark

The first three stages of Tour de France 2022 took place in Denmark. 

There have been negotiations going on between Tour de France and parties in Denmark on getting the Tour to Denmark in the last 20 years. 

There have been many sceptics since it became known that Tour de France would start in Denmark. The sceptics have criticized spending DKK 88 million on hosting three stages of Tour de France stating that Denmark would never gain publicity equivalent to the amount spent.  

After three days of Tour de France fever, Denmark has gained a lot of publicity and shown the world that it is the country of cycling. Whether it is 88 million worth, who are we to judge, but it has been three beautiful days with an enthusiastic crowd
